Why School of Culture and Design?
HTW Berlin School of Culture and Design places students at the heart of everything it does. We are aware that you want excellent teaching, a great student experience in a vibrant, European city and more than anything, a time that will contribute to your future career and personal development.
When studying at our Faculty, you will experience dynamic and interactive teaching and have access to state-of-the-art facilities to enhance your learning in our modern Wilhelminenhof campus.
We will work closely with you to identify valuable opportunities to enhance your learning experience. You'll also have the chance to attend German language or subject-specific English language classes, gain industry exposure and acquire skills and attributes to stand out against other students and graduates in the future.
Exchange Students
Every year the Faculty welcomes more than 30 students on exchange programmes from partner universities located on 4 different continents. We receive students from and send ours to Mexico, Finland, France, Italy, Israel, Spain, the UK, India, Australia, the US and many more. The majority of incoming students enrol on one of the following courses - Communications Design, Industrial Design, Fashion Design or Clothing Technology, Game Design, Museums Studies or Museum Management and Communication- and we are keen to further increase the intake of international students on other courses, too.
If you do not study at one of our partner universities (listed below), please contact the International Office first to find out if an institutional agreement is possible to allow you to spend a semester or a year at HTW Berlin.
International Partnerships
We partner with academic institutions all over the world to give international and Germany-born students the opportunity to benefit from a HTW Berlin experience and/or qualification. We are proud to showcase our extensive and reputable portfolio of partners from over 20 countries worldwide [ list of overseas partner universities].
HTW Berlin supports the German University Cairo of Applied Science (GUC AS) in establishing a modern teaching programme in line with German quality standards. Various degree programmes (e.g. International Business, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science and Industrial Design) have been implemented and consolidated for this purpose. The project is supported and financed by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). Following the implementation of HAW-typical, practice-oriented teaching at the GUC in 2020, the year of the start-up phase, under the consortium leadership of HTW Berlin and the laying of the foundation stone for projects in applied research, 2021 was all about establishment.
International Cooperation
We are always happy to receive partnership requests from other institutions. If you represent an overseas university and would like to initiate an agreement with HTW Berlin Faculty 5, please send your proposal by e-mail to Prof. Dr. Susanne Kähler at fb5-verwaltung@htw-berlin.de
